News - Leeds Today: NePolice hit crime... with karate

News - Leeds Today: News, Sport, Jobs, Property, Cars, Entertainments & More: "Leeds community police officer Dave Brook is opening the doors of the Kushinkai Karate Academy to welcome local people and divert them away from a life of crime and anti-social behaviour. Free classes will be provided on a weekly basis allowing young people to learn the art of Kushinkai Karate, which means hard work and endeavour.
PC Brook said: 'Local residents are concerned that there are no provisions for young people and so many could turn to crime through boredom and a lack of focus.
'Kushinkai Karate teaches respect and discipline and will help to divert their energy into a positive lifestyle whilst reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the local community.'"
