Karate a family affair

CourierPostOnline - South Jersey's Web Site: "Adrianne Hassinger and her three daughters refer to themselves as Team Hassinger. That's because they have to work as a team to fully participate in everything they're involved in.

If they continue their prowess in karate, however, they might consider changing that moniker to The Winning Team.

Competing in the annual Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan National Karate Tournament this summer in Orlando, Fla., the Hassingers of Franklinville walked away with eight trophies: three firsts, one second and four thirds.

Mom finished first in sparring and third in forms, while daughters Gabrielle captured a first in forms and third in sparring, Dominique a first in forms and a second in sparring and Dannielle a third in both forms and sparring.

The only family member who didn't win a trophy was Hassinger's husband, Forrest, 42, who runs his own construction company and isn't into karate."
