I wish I had karate camp when i was a kid

Alyson's Web Journal - Bravenet Web Journal: "Hey everybody! Today was our last day of karate camp at RDFK. We did forms, board breaking, knunchuckas, judo, and a bunch of games over the course of the week. Iw ish it wouldn't end. If it was up to me, I would have karate camp 24/7!"

I dont remember karate camps when I was younger...It sounds like fun!

Karate Kata and Music....???

a mad mans muse: "Music and kata
When I was younger I wanted to learn to play the guitar. A friend of mine showed me a scale, and later my guitar teacher also showed me a couple of scales. But I didn’t want to practice the scales, I wanted to learn songs. So I abandoned the teacher and my friends technique in favor of trying to teach myself to memorize other peoples songs. You know what, I was successful. Now whenever I wanted I could play a handful of other peoples music instead of learning the basics and creating my own. Karate is similar in many ways. Kata is a series of scales. By learning what the moves are in each kata the student develops an individual technique based on individual strengths and weakness."

...wow, I never thought about it this way...

Thinking about joining a karate school?

Ducati Mike's Take On Everything Else: "I have been thinking about starting up some kind of sport or strenuous activity and low and behold I have found one. Karate!"

-a good thing to do is read and research something before you get into it. Even with Karate.

My man Mr. Miyagi

random beans: Mr. Miyagi is super cool: "Mr. Miyagi is super cool

Last night, Justin and I watched the Karate Kid. I think it just came out on DVD not too long ago."

I used to believe Mr. Miyagi and Mr. Fuji were the same person when I was a kid...
